The Bighorn Mountain Wild and Scenic Trail Run was my only 100 mile run this year, and the second of only two races. With a summer of “family fun” ahead, I wanted to get my races in early. My training didn’t go quite as planned, including a DNF at Jemez 50 in May due to a freak blizzard resulting in hypothermia. I wasn’t overly confident in facing the Bighorn course, with over 18,000 feet of climbing but I was sure that my experience could help me gut it out
